A group of researchers from several public research institutions in the Balearic Islands have joined forces to celebrate a new edition of “Ciència a Tot Tren”, a unique initiative organised by the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) and the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). The event invites people of all ages to experience science through a remarkable journey on the iconic Sóller train on Saturday, 7 November, complemented by guided visits to the Balearic Museum of Natural Sciences and the Sóller Botanical Garden.
The aim of this event is to bring the science developed in research laboratories across the Balearic Islands closer to the public. During the outbound journey from Palma to Sóller, researchers will share their latest findings and insights through a series of thematic micro-talks related to their scientific work. These outreach presentations will continue during the return trip to Palma.
Upon arrival in Sóller, participants will enjoy free admission to the Balearic Museum of Natural Sciences and the Sóller Botanical Garden.

This activity is jointly organised by the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) and the CSIC Institutional Delegation in the Balearic Islands. Participating institutions include the Mediterranean Institute for Advanced Studies (IMEDEA, CSIC-UIB), the Institute for Cross-disciplinary Physics and Complex Systems (IFISC, CSIC-UIB), the Health Research Institute of the Balearic Islands (IdISBa), and the territorial unit of the Geological and Mining Institute of Spain (IGME).
“Ciència a Tot Tren” is part of the annual programme of the UIB Science Outreach and Scientific Culture Unit and receives specific funding from the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT), under the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.
