Seminar IdISBa. Ramon A. Alvarez-Puebla: “Optical methods for the diagnosis of infectious diseases”

Prof. Ramon A. Alvarez-Puebla (BSc, Universidad de Navarra, 2000; PhD, Universidad Publica de Navarra, 2003) is an expert in surface science and spectroscopy with emphasis on the fabrication, characterization of plasmonic nanoparticles and their integration into advanced “all optical” sensing devices especially with application in nanobiomedicine. He has co-authored more than 150 papers (including Nat Mater, Nat Chem Biol, PNAS, Angew Chem, Nano Lett, JACS, Adv Mater or ACS Nano) which have been cited over 10000 times and holds 10 world patents (6 licensed) in optical biosensing devices. His h-index is 58. He has been involved in 43 national and international projects, including Feder, FP7, H2020, NIH (USA), GHI (Canada) and NSERC (Canada), leading 29 of them as a PI.
